The setting of The Night She Disappeared is in Portland, Oregon. It starts off at a place name Pete's Pizza. The setting is important because a high school senior who worked their went missing on a pizza delivery. Their are 3 main characters in this book, Drew, Kayla, and Gabie. All of them work at the pizza place. Though not stated directly I presume all of them are seniors. Gabie seems to be an honors student while Drew is a student who seems to barley get passing grades in school. Kayla it seems is one of the popular kids with lots of friends.

The book in some aspects is interesting. In others not so much. There are some things I would change about it though. For example, in the beginning he took one of the workers from Pete's Pizza, but it wasn't the one he wanted. So he said he said he had to kill her, why take someone that you don't want just to kill them? Second the author never stated what the guy's motive was to kidnap girls. Third, he stated he had already killed someone, why couldn't the police pull him up as a prime suspect form the beginning. Obviously he is prone to take girls, and she must have been reported missing. Fourth, Cody, a meth addict, is named as a suspect just because he owns a brown, formerly white, Toyata Truck seen in the area. If the police search his house and car and find nothing, he should be off the suspect list? Overall it is a good book so far.

There are many conflicts in this book. Most of the conflicts are external. There is one major internal conflict involving Kayla. When she is trapped in the room she has to decide weather to kill herself or try to stay alive. That to me seems to be a hard decision. The external conflicts involving Drew and Gabie are also a major part of the book. Gabie has to try to convince the Police that Kayla is still alive. That proved to be a challenge especially since the Police said they didn't want to hear anything else about it. Drew has to deal with the fact that he could not give the Police any useful information. Also Drew has to try to keep Gabie from getting into trouble while looking for Kayla.
